Love is found
in shades and shadows;
In hues of blue - suddenly visible
in
invisible undertones.
I find it in the last quavering note
of a song;
Building, building - approaching
a crescendo;
vibrantly beautiful,
The prize for which we all fight,
suspended there.
The air shivers.
And for a second,
time is taken captive.
Everything shatters.
Fragile, fading fast...
quietly lingering,
leaving a residue of hope
In the air.
Now -
Gone.
Love is fully grasped
When I unclasp
my desperate fingers
And let go.
It is born in humility
and watered with time;
Tested and tried
through fury and fire -
embodied in eternal grace.
Love never dies.
It endures
through pain,
when the earth succumbs to rain,
and is born again
in sacrifice.
I lay my love
in its feeble strength,
at your feet,
incomplete.
For You are Love.
Your death proved it
Perfect,
expelling all fear.
Now, teach me to trust.
I love, because you first
Loved me.
This is real love;
In its fullness,
Complete.
